P2G invited to appear before the UK Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee

PFI expertise recognised at the highest levels

P2G’s Bruce Dalgleish was recently invited to appear before the UK Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) to present evidence on the challenges of the PFI expiry process and the future use of private finance for UK infrastructure.

The Government has identified infrastructure investment, delivered in partnership with the private sector, as central to growing the economy. Following this year’s National Audit Office report ‘Private finance for infrastructure’ that set out the most relevant lessons learned for government to consider, the PAC invited a selection of leading PFI experts and stakeholder organisations to respond to questions on costs, benefits, risks and opportunities of public private partnerships and to listen to expert opinion on how best to prepare for the substantial number of PFI contracts set to expire over the next decade.

Bruce Dalgleish, Partner at P2G comments: “It was a great privilege to be invited to appear before the PAC, providing further evidence that P2G’s expertise in the use, management, and on-going procurement of private finance projects is recognised at the highest levels.

“Looking to the future it is critical that the right policies and strategies are in place. Identifying the best approach to manage the challenges of the PFI expiry process over the next decade is a fundamental step to ensure lessons learned are addressed within the next generation of public private partnerships to ensure successful delivery and value for money for the public sector.”
